Provides highly technical land use planning, research and zoning analysis in support of the Environmental & Land Use and Real Estate Practice Groups. Responsibilities include reviewing developer plans for code, environmental and code compliance as well as technical completeness; writing proposal summaries and requests; conducting due diligence investigations; researching land use issues and coordinating local development approvals. Must be able to attend evening meetings and be able to create and give effective presentations. Position requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in municipal government or private planning practice and a strong understanding of land use and zoning review requirements with strong negotiation and arbitration skills. Experience with Central Florida local governments (Orange County and the City of Orlando) required. Must be able to identify problems and research and interpret codes, regulations, standards, plans, specifications, legal descriptions and governmental documents. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Certification form the American Institute of Certified Planners or American Society of Landscape Architects is a plus.
