The city of Weston will be celebrating its 20th anniversary at the Weston Hills Country Club on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016. Update: photos from the event added below.

City of WestonSept. 3 marks 20 years since 1996, when members of the original Indian Trace Development District board of supervisors, the nine members of the steering committee, and residents voted to incorporate Weston into a city. The event will recognize and honor the original ITDD board of supervisors and steering committee who worked toward incorporation and elected city officials who served the community during this time. The recognition program begins at 6:15 p.m. Music, refreshments and anniversary cake will be served. RSVP via emial to [email protected]

Gunster attorney Donald Hall is a member of the ITDD board of supervisors and will be honored and recognized at the ceremony.

Gunster attorney Don HallFor more than 30 years, Hall has represented Florida developers to obtain approval of major commercial, residential, mixed-use, condominium, hotel and master planned communities, representation that when necessary includes litigation to protect the rights of his clients, as well as obtaining project approval by those governmental entities which have jurisdiction.

For example, he obtained the development approval necessary for the 13,000-acre mixed-use planned development in western Broward County that ultimately became the city of Weston as we know it today.

Hall also served as city attorney for the city of Fort Lauderdale from 1980 to 1987.
