Florida Fellows Institute hosts program on probate and trust administration

The Florida Fellows Institute will hold its third event on November 20th in Tampa, focused on training for probate administration and trust administration.

The Florida Fellows Institute is in its inaugural season this year, focused on providing training for young leaders involved in ACTEC, or the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. This program includes instruction on the following subjects:

  • Homesteads (taught by Shane Kelley)
  • Spousal entitlements, Waivers and Elective Share (taught by Deb Boje)
  • Summary administration (taught by Sarah Butters)
  • Creditor claims (taught by Tami Conetta)
  • Post mortem tax elections (taught by Rick Gans)
  • Florida probate code (taught by John Moran)
  • Florida trust code (taught by David Carlisle)
  • Modification, decanting, etc. (taught by Lauren Detzel)
  • View from the bench (taught by Hon. Mark Speiser)

There are six programs in the Florida Fellows Institute 2015/2016 season. The final three programs will take place on February 19th in Fort Lauderdale, April 1st in Tampa, and May 20th in Fort Lauderdale.

In addition to teaching at the program, Gunster shareholder Deb Boje also serves on the institute’s senior advisory committee, alongside shareholder Elaine Bucher.
