The Executive Women of the Palm Beaches held their 33rd annual Women in Leadership award ceremony on May 5. The event was held at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts-Cohen Pavilion.
This event recognizes prominent women in the local community who are well accomplished in their respective fields and devote their time and efforts to being leaders within their communities. There are four categories for women to be nominated: non-profit, public, volunteer, and private sectors. This year’s award recipients are as follows: public sector: Verdenia Baker, non-profit sector: Dr. Laurie George, private sector: Wendy Sartory Link and volunteer sector: Yvonne Boice.
The Executive Women of the Palm Beaches is a nonprofit organization whose mission is centered around the enhancement of less fortunate girls and young women through educational and charitable goals. Through grants, scholarships and events throughout the year the organization remains an influential presence in the lives of girls they seek to make a difference. The Executive Women of the Palm Beaches has members who work in a wide variety of industries. These women inspire others through their professional and personal endeavors.
Gunster’s Lisa A. Schneider was nominated for this year’s Women in Leadership private sector award 2016. Schneider leads Gunster’s trust andestates practice and co-chairs the firm’s Women’s Leadership Forum. Schneider’s dedication to her community is carried out by serving as a founding trustee of the Jewish Women’s Foundation, chairperson of the Palm Beach Martin County Community Foundation Professional Advisory Committee, co-chair of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, Jewish Professionals Network and member of the Professional Advisory Group Steering Committee of Scripps Florida.
