Gunster attorney George LeMieuxGunster’s chairman of the board, George LeMieux, will be honored as Palm Beach County’s Chairman of the Year by South Florida Business and Wealth at the 2015 Apogee awards. South Florida Business and Wealth, or SFBW, hosts the annual Apogee awards, where they recognize C-suite executives in three counties across Florida.

In each county, eight categories of awards are selected annually with one winner in each category. The categories are chairman, CEO, president, COO, CIO, CFO, CMO and top HR officer. Every winner is thoroughly researched by South Florida Business and Wealth after the nomination process..

South Florida Business and Wealth is a magazine mailed to 30,000 business owners, presidents, C-level executives and senior management executives each month.

As chairman of the board for Gunster, LeMieux focuses his practice on resolving business and governmental disputes, and advising CEOs and “C” level executives on business, law and politics from a state and national perspective. Attending the Apogee Awards is an opportunity for him to network with the top executives in South Florida, from a variety of industries and departments.

LeMieux served as Florida’s 34th United States Senator in the 111th Congress. In the United States Senate, he served on the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, the Armed Services Committee, and the Special Committee on Aging. He successfully passed legislation on health care fraud, export promotion, rating agency reform, small business promotion, as well as a treaty resolution on tactical nuclear weapons.

LeMieux served as Florida’s deputy attorney general overseeing more than 400 attorneys and appearing before appellate courts on behalf of the state of Florida, including the United States Supreme Court. LeMieux  also served as the Governor’s chief of staff overseeing all state agencies and operations.
