The Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum will host its first ever event on April 14. Gunster recently launched the forum to highlight the workforce and economic development contributions of the electric and natural gas industries to Florida. The leaders in those industries have an important role leading infrastructure efforts that support Florida’s growth as the 3rd largest state in the country. The inaugural event includes c-level keynote speakers and panelists on topics important to all Floridians especially those interested in seeking industry opportunities.

Gunster attorney Lila JaberLila Jaber, past Chairman of the Florida Public Service Commission and a shareholder in Gunster’s government affairs law and lobbying practice, knows the importance of energy to development in Florida. “Adequate diverse energy infrastructure and sound regulatory policy are how Florida continues to meet the demands of a growing economy. We are so lucky to have a positive regulatory environment, simplified tax structures, and welcoming pro-economic development policymakers.” As we celebrate those contributions and those leaders, we also hope to inspire others to join the workforce.

On Thursday, April 14, the Florida’s Women in Energy Forum begins with a conversation with POWER-GEN’s 2015 Woman of the Year, Kimberly S. Greene, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Southern Company. On April 15, the lunch keynote speaker is Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner Colette D. Honorable.

The Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum is presented by Gunster and will take place at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

Attendees of the Forum can expect to hear from energy industry leaders on a variety of topics including opportunities in economic development, legislative leadership and workforce development. Program attendees will be eligible for up to 12 CLE credits.
