At its September 23 commission meeting, the City of Stuart proclaimed October 10, 2013 as “Firearm Safety Day.”
In honor of the day, the proclamation says:
“[W]e encourage our citizens to engage in firearm safety and to celebrate the many freedoms,
including the Second Amendment, that are ratified in our nation’s Constitution.”

Stuart mayor Eula Clarke presented the proclamation to Preethi Sekharan, vice-chair of the Martin County Friends of NRA executive committee. Sekharan is a litigator in Gunster‘s Stuart office. The Martin County Friends of NRA are holding their eighth annual fundraising dinner on October 10. Find out more about the event.
