West Palm Beach, Fla., (Nov. 11, 2015) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, today announced the addition of Elizabeth Ross, former attorney for the South Florida Water Management District, as of counsel in the firm’s West Palm Beach office.

Gunster attorney Beth Ross

With more than 30 years of experience working with SFWMD, Ross adds significant expertise and understanding of statewide water issues to Gunster’s environmental and land use practice.

“With her incredible background and experience, Beth’s addition to our already strong environmental and land use practice provides us with an even deeper bench of resources to serve our clients,” said Bill Perry, managing shareholder of Gunster.  “ Providing for existing and future water users while also protecting the state’s water resources   is one of the most important issues facing Florida, and Beth’s knowledge will be invaluable in helping our clients navigate these challenges.”

During her time at the SFWMD, Ross specialized in many Florida water policy and water resource related issues, including water supply planning and alternative water supply development. She was closely involved in legislation, drafting and negotiating Florida’s water supply related regulations and has played a key role in the Central Florida Water Initiative, the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan and the Central and Southern Florida Flood Control Project. Ross is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in State and Federal Government and Administrative Practice.

Gunster’s environmental and land use lawyers have advised purchasers and sellers of agricultural, commercial and industrial property on environmental issues including permitting and compliance, the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and the Comprehensive Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (CERCLA), among others. They represent clients before federal, state and local agencies, administrative and judicial tribunals and in federal and state courts.
