WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 20, 2016) – Gunster, Florida’s law firm for business, is pleased to welcome five law school students to the firm to participate in its 10-week summer associate program.
Each summer, Gunster offers a select group of second-year law school students the opportunity to experience and participate in ongoing client matters across multiple practice areas. The summer associate program is open to law school students who have completed two years of coursework. Summer associates gain valuable, real-world experience in a diverse, business-focused law firm, while receiving mentorship from its practicing attorneys and participating in attorney training and networking activities.
Gunster is pleased to welcome this year’s group of summer associates to its West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami offices:
Emily Baxter is a law school student in the class of 2017 at Florida State University College of Law. She is vice president of the moot court team and a member of the FSU Law Review and the Student Bar Association. Baxter holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and mathematics from Hamilton College, where she was a member of the women’s varsity ice hockey team.
Logan DeSouza studies law at Duke University School of Law, class of 2017, where he is a staff editor of the Duke Environmental Law & Policy Forum and a student representative for LexisNexis. DeSouza holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and international affairs, magna cum laude, from FSU, where he was the captain for the club cross-country team.
Sebastian Fox is a law school student in the class of 2017 at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He is a Law Review editor and is in the environmental and land use law certificate program. Fox holds a Bachelor of Arts in english, cum laude, and is also a candidate for a Master of Science in real estate from UF. He played men’s lacrosse as an undergraduate.
Daniel Naydenov studies law at Vanderbilt University Law School, class of 2017, where he is a member of the mock trial board traveling team and president of the Labor & Employment Law Society. Naydenov earned a Bachelor of Arts in business arts and history, cum laude, from UF, where he was an assistant director for Gator Growl.
Lauren Shumate is a law school student at the University of Notre Dame Law School, class of 2017, where she is the executive notes editor for the Journal of Legislation and on the moot court board, brief writer – showcase team. Shumate holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a master’s in political science from the University of South Florida, where she was the captain of the women’s varsity tennis team.
