New shareholder Edward F. Tancer joins Gunster’s corporate practice group in the West Palm Beach office. He will focus his practice on general business counseling, corporate governance and commercial transactions.
Tancer brings a wealth of experience as in-house counsel, including electric utility matters. He comes to Gunster with more than 20 years working with NextEra Energy and its subsidiary Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), most recently serving as the president of U.S. Transmission Holdings, LLC, a new subsidiary of NextEra Energy. Prior to U.S. Transmission Holdings, Tancer worked as the vice chairman and senior vice president of Government Affairs for FPL. In 2005, he was named vice president and general counsel of FPL Group, having previously served as general counsel of FPL Energy and as a senior attorney of FPL.
Tancer earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and his law degree from the University of Florida.
