Gaffney to Discuss Recent Book on America’s War for the Free World

MIAMI – April 28, 2006 – Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, along with Mrs. Tova Leidesdorf and Books & Books, will welcome national security expert Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. for a private reception and discussion of his recent book, War Footing: 10 Steps America Must Take to Prevail in the War for the Free World, on May 9, at 6 p.m., at The Bankers Club in Miami.

Frank Gaffney is the founder and president of the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Security Policy, a not-for-profit, non-partisan corporation dedicated to the analysis of foreign and defense policy matters. A weekly columnist for The Washington Times, Gaffney also is a regular contributor to publications such as the New York Post, Town Hall, and Jewish World Review. He appears frequently on national and international television and radio programs.

Drawing on contributions from 35 American national security experts, War Footing lays bare the fact that the United States is engaged in a war for the free world. It explains in no uncertain terms who is the enemy, how high the stakes are, and what must be done to prevail. War Footing has gained prominent treatment and highly favorable reviews in media outlets such as The O’Reilly Factor, Lou Dobbs Tonight, National Review Online, and Weekly Standard Online, among many others.

Before the Center’s founding, Gaffney acted as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy during the Reagan Administration, following four years of service as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Forces and Arms Control Policy.

In March, Gaffney testified as an expert witness before the U.S. House of Representatives Armed Services Committee against the Dubai port deal. He was a vocal opponent to the deal, which ballooned into one of the largest recent controversies in Washington.

This event is by invitation only, but members of the media are welcome. Please RSVP by calling (305) 376-4152 by May 1. The Bankers Club is located at One Biscayne Tower, 2 South Biscayne Boulevard, 14th Floor, Miami, Fla.
