WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 21, 2007) Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, P.A., has been named one of the top law firms in South Florida by South Florida Legal Guide 2008. Ten of the firm’s attorneys were named among the top lawyers in South Florida and four were listed as South Florida’s “Up & Comers,” a list of leading attorneys under 40 who are on track to being named among the top tier.  The annual publication lists the top lawyers and law firms in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Top Lawyers in South Florida

From the West Palm Beach office, David G. Bates, shareholder and co-chair of the firm’s Technology Practice Group and Emerging Company Practice Group, was named a top corporate and technology lawyer; G. Joseph Curley, shareholder and member of the firm’s Litigation Department and chair of the Employment Law Practice Group, was named a top employment litigation and commercial litigation lawyer; Michael V. Mitrione, shareholder and chair of the Corporate Department, was named a top corporate and mergers and acquisitions lawyer; Lisa A. Schneider, shareholder and member of the firm’s Private Wealth Services Department, was named a top trusts and estates and tax lawyer; and Robert T. In the Ft. Lauderdale office, Gregory K. Bader, a shareholder and a member of the firm’s Corporate Department, was named an Up & Comer in banking and securities; and Christian A. Petersen, a shareholder and member of the firm’s Litigation Department, was named an Up & Comer in bankruptcy.

In the West Palm Beach office, William T.
