Gregor J. Schwinghammer was reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 15th Judicial Circuit, serving Palm Beach County. His current term runs from March 31, 2017, through July 1, 2020.

Gunster shareholder Elaine Bucher has been elected to the board of regents of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. The board of regents is ACTEC’s governing body and consists of just 39 members.

Fabienne E. Fahnestock, a shareholder in Gunster’s Fort Lauderdale office, is expected to begin serving as a judge in the family division of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court, serving Broward County, on March 9, 2017.

Gunster land use attorney Heidi Davis Knapik has been named president-elect of NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association of South Florida’s board of directors for 2017. A shareholder in Gunster’s Fort Lauderdale office, she has served on the NAIOP South Florida board since 2014, and is co-chair of the programs committee. She will serve as president in 2018.

George S. LeMieux has joined the board of trustees of Florida TaxWatch, a nonprofit taxpayer research institute that works with the state’s business and political leaders to improve Florida.
