Earlier this year, Gunster attorney Nalani Gordon founded the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County Young Professionals Group. In its inaugural year, the group’s main initiative was to put together the Back to School Palooza for Lincoln Elementary, a school Nalani attended herself.
Nalani’s leadership and vision have been instrumental in organizing the Back-to-School Palooza, reflecting her commitment to education and community service. Her journey with the Education Foundation began with a simple yet profound belief: that every child deserves the tools and opportunities to succeed academically. Her passion for education and her professional expertise have made her a pivotal figure in the group’s efforts to support local schools and students.
In the months leading up to the event, the group worked towards sourcing the backpacks, school supplies, uniforms, food and activities to make the event impactful and fun-filled. Much of success of the event relied heavily on community support through raised funds and donations of time and resources. Those that sponsored the event include Gunster, Song + Associates, Proctor Construction, Florida Power & Light, Urban League Young Professionals of Palm Beach County, Care Hope College, Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC, BDO, Jones Foster and Restoration Bridge International.
The Back-to-School Palooza is a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared goal. Under the leadership of Nalani Gordon, the Young Professionals Group of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County is making a tangible impact on the lives of students at Lincoln Elementary School. As the school year continues, let us all consider how we can contribute to this noble cause and help pave the way for a brighter future for our children.
