Overview
Gunster’s international litigators have represented domestic and non-U.S. clients on matters that reflect the diversity and breadth of business in and out of Florida – from trade in goods, financial services and investments, securitizations and loans, intellectual property and technology, to taxes and joint ventures. When necessary our advocates can handle government investigations, civil and criminal, and have litigated cases involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, RICO and money laundering, the Act of State Doctrine, discovery pursuant to 28 USC § 1782, the U.S. Trafficking Victims Protection Act, securities fraud, class actions, transnational employment disputes, and intellectual property disputes. We focus on fundamental principles, especially jurisdiction, and look for the opportunity to keep non-US defendants out of the US courts. In addition to business clients, Gunster’s international litigators have represented sovereign states, international organizations, and NGOs.
