On March 3, 2022, Gunster will hold the inaugural Florida Women in Insurance Leadership Awards Luncheon, hosted by Government Affairs Consultant Sha’Ron James. This event serves as part of Gunster’s Leading Florida Forward initiative, which is aimed at empowering and improving the community at large.
Women in Insurance Leadership Awards honors female insurance leaders who are inspiring and paving the way for others. Women from every facet of the industry, across all lines of insurance and risks, have and continue to make significant contributions to Florida’s insurance marketplace. Florida Women in Insurance Leadership Awards looks to recognize the outstanding contributions of these women and the organizations that support them.
Award categories are as follows:
- Emerging Leader – The Emerging Leader Award recognizes an exceptional young woman under the age of 35 that has shown a clear commitment to and passion for the risk and insurance industry in Florida.
- Leadership Pacesetter – The Leadership Pacesetter Award recognizes a woman that has taken the lead within Florida’s risk and insurance industry, within her company and/or organization and continues to set a high standard of achievement for others to follow.
- Lifetime Achievement – The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a woman that has made a significant impact on Florida’s risk and insurance marketplace through her outstanding achievements and career contributions to the insurance industry.
- DEI Catalyst – DEI Catalyst Award recognizes a company or organization within Florida’s risk and insurance industry that has demonstrated its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by advancing programs and initiatives that break down barriers in the risk and insurance industry by promoting a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture.
With extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, insurance law and regulatory matters, Sha`Ron James practices at the intersection of government affairs and advocacy, insurance law and regulation, and policy development and execution. She represents domestic and international insurance companies and insurance-related entities throughout Florida, before the Florida Legislature, Office of Insurance Regulation, and other State Agencies.
