Lila Jaber, who leads the government affairs practice group at Gunster, is a finalist for the “Servant Leadership Award,” chosen annually by Leadership Tallahassee. Leadership Tallahassee will host an awards banquet on September 17 to honor the finalists and present three awards; Leadership Pacesetter, Servant Leadership, and Leader of the Year.

The Servant Leadership Award is granted to an individual who has “demonstrated consistent community leadership…combining efforts in business and nonprofit organizations.” Jaber serves as the chair of the City of Tallahassee Ethics Board, a board member of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce, and the board United Way of the Big Bend, among other organizations.

All proceeds from Leadership Tallahassee’s event will be donated to their program Youth Leadership Tallahassee, which trains high school juniors who have demonstrated leadership potential in community involvement.

Government affairs, led by Jaber, is part of Gunster’s effective approach to overcoming obstacles, creating opportunity and protecting the bottom line. The practice group works with decision makers and thought leaders outside of conventional financial and legal arenas to successfully address even the most complex governmental and community concerns.
