Is your chili the spiciest? Meatiest? Most original? Got the best fixins? Paired with the best cornbread?
The Jacksonville Bar Association‘s Young Lawyers Section has got a prize for each, including for best overall and crowd favorite. Local judges will decide the winners.
Join us on Feb. 18, beginning at 11 a.m. for some family friendly fun at this popular annual charity fundraiser. Enjoy live music, drinks and other treats at the 2017 YLS Chili Cook-Off (and be sure to visit the Facebook event page).
All proceeds will benefit the Anthony J. Stinson Jr. Association for Change, an area nonprofit working to support the Northside community by offering tutoring, donations, mentorship and civic guidance for Jacksonville’s youth. It costs $150 per team to enter the chili cook-off competition, and registration ends Feb. 2. Email [email protected] to reserve your spot. The event is free to the public, although donations are encouraged.
This year marks the third consecutive year Gunster has sponsored the annual chili cook-off.
Gunster attorney Megan K. Moon, an ex officio member of the YLS board of governors, is a co-chair of the event.
According to the YLS website, it raised $7,000 last year for the 2016 selected charity, Community Connections.

Gunster placed third in the crowd favorite category in 2017. The afternoon was an all-around winner, affording everyone the opportunity to have fun and mingle with colleagues, attorney peers and judges, and the Jacksonville community.
