The first ever Palm Beach International Agricultural Summit will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center on May 4. The summit will bring together a wide range of professionals who play a role in the agricultural industry and focus on educating the public about agriculture. The event is hosted by the Economic Council of Palm Beach County along with co-hosts the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Palm Beach County.
The agenda for the all-day event includes keynote speakers, panels, and the "Palm Beach Tastes" luncheon. Among the many speakers are Adam Putnam, who serves as Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Fabiola Brumley who is a Southeast Region executive at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, John Kelly, the president of Florida Atlantic University, and Ava Parker, the president of Palm Beach State College, along with many others.
Adam Putnam, Florida Commissioner of Agriculture, will speak on the "History, challenges and opportunities of farming." There will also be a unique session for students called "The future of ag and you." The summit aims to reach a wide variety of demographics.
Along with the presentations, there will be exhibit booths representing a wide variety of local businesses and organizations, networking, and problem solving.
The Florida Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year in addition to co-hosting the summit. They created this video in honor of the anniversary.
