The Angel Forum of Florida recently named Gunster attorney Michael Mitrione to its board of directors. Mitrione joins Brenda Claiborne, program director of Jupiter Neuroscience at Florida Atlantic University as the newest members of the 12-person board.

The Angel Forum’s mission is to connect investors and entrepreneurs in Florida, through monthly meetings held in Jupiter and member networks. “Angel investors” are individuals who invest in emerging companies; their level of investment typically ranges between $50,000 to $3 million.

In his new role, Mitrione will help support the growth of emerging companies in Florida. Mitrione is a corporate and securities attorney in Gunster‘s West Palm Beach office, and has helped entrepreneurs build their businesses for the past 35 years. He is also an advisory board member at the University of Florida’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, as well as serving many other regional and statewide business organizations.

A strong board will enhance the Angel Forum’s ability to engage the many individual angel investors in South Florida, Angel Forum chair Brad Neider said in a prepared statement.
