George S. LeMieuxGeorge S. LeMieux, former U.S. Senator and current chair of Gunster, was interviewed recently for a weekly online video series called Issues. The forum is powered by WPBT2, a PBS station in South Florida, and the show is a recap of the week’s hot national news items.

In the video, LeMieux discusses U.S. Senate rules in light of the “nuclear option” on the table the week of July 15, plus other issues such as the verdict in the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case as well as immigration reform.

The Senate rules discussion begins about 4 minutes in, and runs about 4 minutes long. It involves the Senate actions the week of July 15, in which Senators appeared to compromise to keep filibusters in place and approve several of President Obama’s appointment. Does such compromise indicate a new era of bipartisanship ahead, the interviewer asks.
