Recently, CNN featured Gunster Shareholder Bob Lamm discussing Former President Trump’s special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) deal. Lamm explains that the SEC could halt Trump’s SPAC by requiring the entities to improve their disclosures. “They are going to do everything they can to slow this deal, to the point that it can’t go,” he observes.
The Washington Post also published an article in which Lamm commented on Shanghai-based Arc Capital, which helped create Digital World Acquisition, raising over $1.2 billion to conduct a merger with Trump Media and Technology Group. “There’s a shell company basically merging with another shell company, because, as far as we know, the Trump media company hasn’t yet been formed,” notes Lamm.
Bob Lamm chairs the Gunster’s Securities Law & Corporate Governance practice. Bob previously served as assistant general counsel and assistant secretary of Pfizer. His prior experience includes senior legal positions at W. R. Grace, CA Technologies, and Financial Guaranty Insurance Company. He also has extensive experience with small and mid-cap companies, as well as nonprofit entities. In addition to his role at Gunster, Bob is an independent senior advisor to the Deloitte Center for Board Effectiveness.
