Law will track overall economy

Lynn Pappas, an attorney at Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart PA, is hopeful that the legal community’s service of litigation and transactions will begin to balance out in 2012.

During downturns in the economy, it is common, Pappas said, for there to be fewer transaction-related services and more litigation. This year has been no different.

A better economic climate will lend itself to a more balanced legal market, Pappas said, and there are some signs that may be the case in 2012 with indicators such as a stabilizing real estate market and institutional property owners, such as banks, being more willing to dispose of property.
