Lila Jaber, shareholder and chair of Gunster's government affairs practice, was recently honored among Tallahassee Democrat's "25 Women You Need to Know" in 2015. The Democrat chooses 25 women every March to commemorate Women's History Month and raise awareness for women's issues and women who are leading the community.
Jaber is a member of Gunster's women's leadership committee, has a 25-year career in regulatory policy, and was recently appointed to the city's ethics board by Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum. She provides strategic and regulatory advice to clients on a number of business and economic development issues that include utility-specific matters in energy and water as well as general business strategy implementation for some of the largest companies doing business in Florida.
The Tallahassee Democrat has been honoring women in the community in this way since 2007 and this year's selections drew a record number of nominations, according to the article. The women honored were selected because of their career success and dedication to the community.
Jaber is a frequent speaker and presenter and served two terms on Florida's Public Service Commission as both commissioner and chair. In the community, Jaber is a former chair of Leadership Florida, currently serves as a board member for the United Way of the Big Bend, and is a founding member and vice chair of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce.
Her practice areas include government affairs and public policy, utilities and incentives, energy and climate change law, local government advocacy, and much more.
