Tallahassee Office Managing Shareholder Bill Dillon was recently featured in Healthcare Risk Management discussing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Safe Harbor Law. This law incentivizes healthcare providers to utilize the best cybersecurity practices but does not give out penalties to those who do not follow it.
“It rewards those healthcare providers who are taking cybersecurity more seriously. The crazy thing is that even though HIPAA has been around so long and cyber threats are nothing new, there are still a lot of people in the healthcare arena who are just not taking the security as seriously as they should,” adds Dillon.
