In a recently published Jacksonville Daily Record article, Gunster attorney Kellie Humphries advises contractors on how to gain an edge against competitors in the construction industry.

“In 2024, the Northeast Florida contractor’s customer is frustrated; the dollar is not going as far as it has in recent history and certainly not as far as the customers would like it to go,” Humphries explains. In response, she addresses many aspects of the construction industry, including employee retention, sustainable products and market insights in Northeast Florida, that can position contractors as leaders in the market.

Kellie Humphries is a board certified, full-service commercial construction attorney who co-leads Gunster’s Construction Law practice. She advises clients participating in a multitude of project delivery methods and across industry sectors including corporate owners, design-builders, EPC contractors, joint ventures and general contractors. Her typical cases range from contract drafting/negotiation to project consulting and pre-suit dispute resolution through trial/final hearing.

Kellie’s services include simplifying complex agreements and training project teams on risk identification and mitigation. She also has extensive experience prosecuting and defending payment/change order claims, delay actions, construction defects, and related issues.
