WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June 30, 2010) — The law firm of Gunster announced today that Florida State Senator Joe Negron has joined the firm as a shareholder. He will focus his practice on business litigation and environmental and land use, working primarily from the firm’s West Palm Beach and Stuart offices.”

Joe Negron’s experience as a lawmaker in Tallahassee, his knowledge of land use and proven abilities as a litigator adds an additional dimension to these two very deep practice groups at Gunster,” said H. William Perry, chairman and managing partner. “He fits well into our firm’s culture, being a native of the state and passionate about protecting its interests.”

Negron started his law career in private practice in Stuart, Fla. nearly 25 years ago, before joining the law firm of Crary, Buchanan, Bowdish, Bovie, Roby, Beres, Negron & Thomas. He most recently served Of Counsel at Akerman Senterfitt in West Palm Beach.

“Joining Gunster will allow me to be closer to my family and to reconnect with my career as a litigator on the Treasure Coast,” Negron said. “I look forward to becoming part of this preeminent practice group that is so well respected around the state.”

Negron was first elected to the Florida State House of Representatives in 2000 and served until 2006. Last year, voters elected him serve in the State Senate representing District 28. The district runs from Palm Beach County north to Indian River County.
