Gunster Shareholder Tom Julin was quoted in a recent Miami Herald article discussing proposed legislation that benefits those who wish to file defamation and invasion of privacy lawsuits against media companies. If passed, it could put some media companies out of business and others faced with reporting limits due to the costly and time-consuming nature of the lawsuits.

“I see this as a deliberate effort to punish media organizations that have been critical of the governor and the Republican Legislature,” Julin explains. “It’s doing that by stripping away protections that were seen as essential for those organizations to remain strong.”
