On December 17, 2021, the American Water Resources Association (AWRA) will host its Annual Water Management District Update. Gunster shareholder Luna Phillips, who leads the firm's environmental practice and serves on the board of directors for AWRA, is the meeting coordinator.
This virtual program will highlight the latest developments in water management issues from directors of all five of Florida's Water Management Districts. Each director will be giving an update on District priorities, significant ongoing efforts, and future challenges. Presenters include:

- Drew Bartlett (Executive Director, South Florida Water Management District)
- Tom Frick (Assistant Executive Director, St. Johns River Water Management District)
- Carlos Herd (Director, Resource Management Division, Northwest Florida Water Management District)
- Hugh Thomas (Executive Director, Suwannee River Water Management District).

Luna E. Phillips is practices in the area of environmental, administrative and governmental law. Prior to joining Gunster, Luna was a senior attorney for the South Florida Water Management District and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Luna practices exclusively in the area of water and natural resources law before state and federal agencies. Her practice includes assisting large scale developers, agricultural entities, public and private companies, as well as individuals in a wide range of water related issues. Her experience ranges from water quality regulations such as TMDLs, to environmental resource permitting, to water use permitting, to sovereign state land and listed species approvals.
