The Jessie Ball duPont Center

Join Gunster at the 2019 Nonprofit Works: Cultivate Change on Thursday, June 13. Every year, the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida hosts over 200 nonprofit staff, board members, and community leaders at Nonprofit Works, where you can learn, explore new ideas, connect with others, and leave with renewed purpose – and some practical tools and resources to strengthen your impact in the community.

Gunster attorney Bob LammGunster securities and corporate governance leader Bob Lamm will be presenting on "Board Diversity and Inclusion – A Multi-Dimensional Chess Game?" from 1:20 pm to 2:40 pm. Numerous studies demonstrate that board diversity is key to the health and growth of the organization.  However, the term “diversity” is itself very complex, covering a wide range of demographics and skill sets, each with their own complexities.  This session will explore what diversity means and how nonprofit organizations can approach achieving appropriate levels and types of diversity. Lamm's previous experience includes assistant general counsel and assistant secretary of Pfizer as well as senior legal positions at W. R. Grace, CA Technologies, and Financial Guaranty Insurance Company. He also has extensive experience with small and mid-cap companies, as well as nonprofit entities. Lamm frequently speaks and writes on securities law, corporate governance and related topics, including the “Bob’s Upticks” column on Gunster’s Securities Edge blog, and he serves on the board of editors of The Corporate Counselor.

Additionally, Gunster attorney Mike Freed serves on the board of directors for the Nonprofit Center.
