ACTEC is a nonprofit association of lawyers and law professors with at least 10 years of experience in active practice of probate and trust law or estate planning. Its members nationwide are elected "fellows" based on their professional participation and success in their field. ACTEC's mission is to create a network of accomplished lawyers with the experience and knowledge to further improve their network and work towards improving the laws with which they work with every day.
Gunster shareholder Elaine Bucher currently serves as the Florida chair of ACTEC. She has consistently been ranked by Chambers USA, where she has been called “an authority in the field of estate planning.” Bucher was named by Best Lawyers magazine as the 2015 West Palm Beach Trusts & Estates Lawyer of the Year, and was chosen as one of the Top 50 Female Lawyers in the state of Florida by Florida Super Lawyers.
Gunster's ACTEC Florida fellows include Debra Boje, Elaine Bucher, Bill Hennessey, John Moran, Tom Karr and Mike Simon. Gunster attorneys Cristina Papanikos and Alyse Reiser Comiter recently completed the organization's inaugural leadership class.
