On March 24, 2017, join the Martin County community for the fourth annual "Singing with the Stars" event. Although similar to hit TV shows "The X Factor" and "The Voice," Singing with the Stars will have a twist...pairing notable members of the Martin County community with professional singers.
Gunster litigation attorney Preethi Sekharan has been cast as one of the stars and will sing a live duet onstage with professional singer James Paul, the Director of Jubilate at Jensen Beach High School. Other Martin County stars selected include Lynn Kreps (Owner of Avenue Entertainment), Heather Morris (Activities Director at Grand Oaks of Palm City), Gil Smart (Writer at Treasure Coast Newspapers), and Mike Terrio (President and Founder of the Terrio Group).
The evening will benefit Palm City based nonprofit Artists for a Cause (A4AC). A4AC's mission is to support artists who serve the needs of the community and use their talents as a solution to many of the various issues in Martin County. Besides Singing with the Stars, the organization puts forth many other efforts such as: "Therapeutic Arts" which brings the healing aspect of art to the children and elderly of Martin County, "Dance for Food" where the cost of admission is a bag of food to assist those in hunger, they also send artists to the homes of the elderly to put on performances for those who have no family to share the holidays with.
The "stars" will be judged by professional singers from past Singing with the Stars events and will compete for the top talent prize, top fundraising prize, and the overall trophy which is determined by a combination of the two.
The competition and fundraiser will take place at Starstruck Theatre in Stuart.
