The 75th Institute on Federal Taxation will be taking place in New York on Oct. 23 through Oct. 28, 2016. The Institute on Federal Taxation, presented by NYU, is designed for practitioners who frequently handle federal tax matters. Nationally recognized experts will guide attendees through in-depth general sessions and panel discussions that cover advanced tax issues.

Gunster attorney Seth KaplanGunster attorney Seth Kaplan will be presenting during two sessions on Friday, Oct. 28.

His first presentation, entitled A financial analysis of the income tax and transfer tax treatment of charitable trusts and charitable remainder trusts, will address the benefits resulting from these planning techniques and how the income tax and estate tax benefits of charitable remainder trusts can be increased by the use of life insurance.

His second presentation, entitled Family limited partnerships and other closely held entities: The continuing saga, is a part of the Arthur D. Sederbaum Memorial Lecture and Kaplan will serve as a panelist.

Kaplan is a shareholder in Gunster’s private wealth services practice, and works out of the firm's Boca Raton office. He concentrates his practice in the areas of planned giving, charitable trusts, personal income taxation and estate planning for high net worth individuals.
