Get a taste of Italy in Downtown Coral Gables through the Venice in the Gables public art initiative starting May 2018 through September 2018. This new art exhibit features typical Venetian palinas (mooring posts used in canals in Venice, Italy) that have been painted by regional artists and are displayed along the Miracle Mile in Downtown Coral Gables. Through the exhibit, the City of Coral Gables aims to increase community pride, social and cultural interaction, and an appreciation for the arts.
The painted palinas have all been sponsored and will be auctioned off for charity at the end of the exhibit. Gunster environmental and land use attorney Mario Garcia-Serra sponsored a palina for the Venice in the Gables art initiative and the final work of art can be viewed below.
