During the first week of the 2016 Florida legislative session, the Florida House and Senate passed a comprehensive water bill which makes drastic changes to policy and protections in Florida. On January 15, Gunster shareholders Luna Phillips and Beth Ross will present those changes at the 25th Annual Southwest Florida Water Resources Conference.
The conference is called "Here We Grow Again," and it's focused on the increasing need for water resources in Florida and the best ways to encourage research, projects, and ideas. The new legislation will play a critical role in the future of water in Florida. In their presentation, Phillips and Ross call 2016 "the year of water."
Phillips and Ross will present on the most important changes that the bill makes to current legislation, including changes surrounding water quality programs, supply and conservation, identifying and protecting sensitive resources, quality, quantity, and funding, as well as access to public lands and springs.
