The 2017 American Bar Association Section of International Law Conference will take place on Oct. 24 - Oct. 27, 2017 at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami. The conference will feature nearly 70 break-out CLE sessions, as well as daily keynote luncheon addresses and nightly receptions.

Gunster attorney Joe RaiaGunster international law practice leader, Joe Raia, will be speaking on Tuesday Oct. 24 during the "Pathways to Employment in International Law" presentation. The ‘how to’ program will be geared towards law students and young lawyers seeking to bring their skills to the global arena, as well as experienced practitioners who wish to expand their practices into international law.

Raia serves as revenue officer on the executive committee for the ABA section of international law and has contributed to ABA policy and comparative work on multiple legal and policy issues.

Gunster attorney Maria A. AcevedoGunster international corporate and real estate attorney, Maria Acevedo-Belt, will also be featured on a panel on Wednesday Oct. 25. "Mexico FDI Outlook in the Wake of Trump: Is tourism and real estate the last hope after trade deals and energy investment falter?" will feature legal and industry experts from both sides of the border to discuss the legal framework and vehicles for private and institutional investment in Mexican real estate, cross-border financing structures, environmental and land use issues, NAFTA Chapter 11 and the rule of law.
