The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s official Economic Development Partnership, is hosting its annual Beacon Awards for the 13th year. The event will take place at the University of Miami Student Activities Center on April 2 from 5 – 9:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are available on EventBrite. Mackler_Dan_100x125

The event honors the companies and individuals who have made contributions to the economic development of the Miami-Dade area and inspired job creation, business expansion, corporate citizenship and leadership. The event is sponsored by Florida Power & Light. The Beacon Awards are one of the many events the Beacon Council holds throughout the year. The council has other events and speaking engagements coming up such as the Access Breakfast on April 22 and a discussion titled "Business Opportunities and Trends in the ASEAN Marketplace" on April 15.

The Beacon Council focuses on attracting businesses to the area and advocating for the Miami-Dade area on a national and global level.logo

Gunster attorney Daniel Mackler serves on the board of directors for the Beacon Council. Mackler is co-chair of Gunster’s real property practice and is director of the Premier Title Company, a real estate title agency and affiliate of Gunster handling residential transactions.

Mackler has been listed as a 2014 Power Leader in Commercial Real Estate and 2011 Heavy Hitter in Commercial Real Estate by the South Florida Business Journal, as a Best Lawyer in America and SuperLawyers.
