PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- It's called CycleNation and thanks in part to Gunster's Ed Tancer, it's here in Palm Beach County.

Five months ago, Tancer was approached by the American Heart Association. The organization wanted Tancer's help in coordinating a stationary cycle bike fundraiser. Tancer dialed his former NextEra co-worker and friend Lew Hay and the duo helped gather teams of four willing to ride to high-energy music in a two-hour relay-style event. Once registered, teams worked together to raise funds to benefit the American Heart and American Stroke Associations. From there, the first CycleNation in Palm Beach County evolved into what became a fun-filled successful event.

Last night the teams packed CycleBar Palm Beach Gardens, outfitted in custom tees, posing with props before hopping on bikes for a competitive two hours of fundraising fun.

Gunster' team of four, including managing shareholder Bill Perry, chief strategy officer Carrie Hanna, attorneys Joe Chase, and Ed Tancer, placed 10th overall out of more than 30 teams. Gunster's team also took home the trophy for the top fundraising team.

So far the Palm Beach County CycleNation event has raised more than $200,000 to help beat heart disease and stroke. For more information or to participate in CycleNation, visit their website.
