Gunster will be hosting a child advocacy lunch, training, and panel discussion on Thursday Oct. 26, 2017. The event, courtesy of Lawyers for Children America, will address the legal system for abused and neglected children, child dependency law, multi-forum legal advocacy, and the ethical representation of children.
The training is approved by the Florida Bar for 4 CLE credits, including 1 ethics credit. It also includes a "View from the Bench" judicial panel featuring Judge Ariana Fajardo Orshan (family division & candidate for U.S. attorney in Miami), ), Judge Maria I. Sampedro-Iglesias (juvenile division), and Judge Mavel Ruiz (Juvenile Division).
This CLE is held in conjunction with the ABA national celebration of pro bono week. There is no cost for the training for attorneys who accept a pro bono case from LFCA.
Lawyers for Children America is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains and supports pro bono attorneys to represent children. Gunster litigation attorney Kyle Teal serves on the board of directors for LFCA.
