On Friday June 23, join Gunster's Thomas R. Julin for a panel discussion on the four First Amendment cases that will go before the U.S. Supreme Court in 2017.

The session will take attendees on a two-hour tour that includes a look at whether Neil Gorsuch might not be the new Antonin Scalia, pols can play politics with voting districts, the Patent & Trademark Office must register racist trademarks, sex offenders can be banned from Facebook, a hair salon can caution patrons that bouffants will cost more when bought with MasterCard, and a church can force a state to resurface its playground.

Julin is a renowned First Amendment lawyer with a portfolio of 250+ notable judicial decisions, most notably, the U.S. Supreme Court case Sorrell v. IMS Health Inc., 564 U.S. 552 (2011) where the Court ruled favorably on Julin’s argument that data mining for target marketing is protected against regulation that cannot survive heightened judicial scrutiny. He also led the lawsuit against the FBI to declassify the "28 pages" regarding the Saudi government's possible support for the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Julin is a shareholder in the firm's Miami office.
