The National Utilities Diversity Council (NUDC) is hosting a virtual panel on Monday, December 11 at 1:00pm to discuss 'Mentoring and Being Mentored for Men of Color'. In this one-hour virtual panel, four successful leaders will share their experiences mentoring and being mentored and how this experience has impacted their careers.

Attendees will hear about the ‘trusted guides’ and why access to professional developmental relationships is important to success. The panelists will talk about how to find a mentor, how mentors provided opportunities that the protégé may not have had without the mentor, and what it means to be a mentor as a man of color.

Gunster government affairs consultant Ronald Brisé serves on the board of directors for the NUDC and will moderate the panel discussion. Panelists include the Honorable Harold Gray (Delaware Public Service Commission), Pedro J. Pizzarro (Edison International) and Derrell Slaughter (Michigan Public Service Commission).

Brisé leverages a wealth of experience in governmental, legislative, political and business arenas to represent the interests of clients in matters that include appropriations, business development, education, governmental and legislative affairs, public policy, and economic development. During his time in the Florida Legislature, Brisé was designated democratic whip and served as vice chair of the Florida Conference of Black State Legislators. Following his tenure in the Legislature, Brisé was tapped to serve on the Florida Public Service Commission where he served multiple terms including in the role of chair. Brisé is passionate about bringing together different people and interests to accomplish a common goal, and leverages his relationships with policymakers both nationally and internationally on behalf of clients.

The virtual panel is free and open to anyone interested in, or currently working in, the utilities industry or telecommunications.
