Gunster attorney Sarah Lea Tobocman, the leader of the firm’s immigration practice, will be presenting at the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators joint conference on April 25. The joint AACOM and AODME annual conference runs from April 22 – 25 at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale.
Tobocman is a shareholder at Gunster’s Miami office. She will be presenting at 9 a.m. on the Saturday of the event program. Her lecture titled “A primer: Visas for international students, residents and osteophysicians” will help individuals to navigate the “maze of U.S. immigration rules and regulations.” Tobocman will inform participants of how to avoid issues in letters, contracts and payments of attorneys fee and will provide advice for international medical graduates in the frame of immigration law.
Tobocman is a frequent speaker. Last December she presented as part of a Globalaw webinar on the immigration of same-sex couples around the world and employment issues alongside Gunster attorney Mariana Ribeiro. She also, in June, was a panelist at the Globalaw Americas Conference in Seattle.
The theme of this year’s annual AACOM and AODME conference is “The osteopathic medical education continuum: Exploring opportunities & achieving new milestones.” There is a fee associated with this event and discounts are available for AACOM and AODME members. Participants may register at the door as well and can purchase tickets for just one day. Students, interns and residents also can attend the conference at a discounted price.
Special rooms at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa are also available for those attending the conference.
