28th Annual Southwest Florida Water Resources Conference Gunster environmental and land use law attorneys Luna Phillips and Elizabeth Ross are scheduled to speak at Florida Gulf Coast University on "Legislative Updates and Emerging Issues" beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25.

This year's conference theme is "Bridging Troubled Waters: Uniting to Promote Regional Solutions." The conference begins at 8:00 a.m. for a day of presentations from a variety of leading experts in water resources, government policy, and funding programs. The roster of speakers include some of the top decision-makers who are responsible for water resource planning and management in Florida.

The conference will gather researchers, managers, consultants, and other interested parties to discuss technical and social research and innovative projects in order to share ideas and increase awareness of the issues surrounding water resources. Some of the discussions will focus on water supply, water use efficiency, waterbody protection, watershed health, and environmental sustainability facing the state of Florida. In addition, the conference will continue its annual student poster contest tradition for water resources students statewide. Gunster attorney Luna Phillips

Luna Phillips is a Florida Bar board certified Gunster attorney who practices in the area of environmental, administrative and governmental law. She leads the firm’s Environmental practice. Phillips practices exclusively in the area of water and natural resources law before state and federal agencies. Her practice includes assisting large scale developers, agricultural entities, public and private companies, as well as individuals in a wide range of water related issues. In addition, Phillips actively works on Everglades related restoration issues in south Florida involving complex restoration agreements with governmental entities and water quality and supply regulations.

Gunster attorney Beth RossElizabeth Ross is an of counsel attorney who joined Gunster in 2015. Ross is board certified by the Florida Bar in state and federal government and administrative practice. She practices exclusively in the areas of water, environmental and administrative law. Ross strives to resolve complicated issues faced by Florida’s businesses and other water supply stakeholders.
