On Dec. 6, South Florida CFOs will gather to learn a variety of information regarding major topics that they deal with on a daily basis. The "Law School for the CFO," presented by the CFO Leadership Council and the attorneys of Gunster, will be an excellent opportunity to learn straight from seasoned professionals.

The agenda includes the impact on business and tax implications of the 2016 presidential election, employees and their use of social media, fiduciary duties for CFOs and directors, and employment law issues such as transgender laws and marijuana use in the workplace–specifically marijuana drug testing and the accommodation of legal users.

Speakers for the 'Law School' include:

  • Gunster attorney Bob Lamm, who frequently addresses securities law, corporate governance, and other related topics.
  • Gunster attorney Joe Santoro, who is an experienced trial lawyer in cases involving employment-related disputes.
  • Gunster attorney Bob White, who regularly advises corporations in matters involving business and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and the like.
  • George LeMieux, former senator and Gunster chairman of the board who focuses his practice on CEO's and C-suite executives on business, law, and government from a local, state, and national perspective.
  • Gunster attorney Daniel Glassman, who advises clients in all aspects of personal and business tax planning.
  • Gunster attorney Matthew Scheer, who focuses his practice on federal income tax issues, including corporate and partnership tax matters, as well as wealth transfer taxes.
