Gunster shareholder and tax practice leader James B. Davis will participate in a two-hour, three-person panel about philanthropy and financial planning in Davie, Florida. He will be speaking about charitable giving from an attorney's perspective.
The panel is just one of the informational events planned as part of the Financial Planning Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale's 35th annual conference. The conference typically draws between 150-200 financial professionals and other interested parties.
Davis' legal experience includes ERISA and employee benefits law, estate planning, transactional business tax law, corporate and business law, and health care related counsel. He also counsels clients on areas of taxation such as 403(b) and 457(b) & (f) plans, defined contribution and defined benefit pension plans, stock option and phantom stock plans, welfare benefit plans, executive compensation, 409A nonqualified deferred compensation (for both tax-exempt and for profit organizations), as well as ESOP operations and feasibility.
The Financial Planning Association connects firms that support the financial planning process to the financial planning community. There are nine Florida chapters of FPA, representing over 1,400 members.
FPA members include financial planners, accountants, attorneys, bankers, charitable giving specialists, insurance agents, stockbrokers, money managers, investment consultants, broker-dealer and corporate executives, and others who champion the financial planning process.
