Palm Beach Philanthropy Tank, now in its second year, provides an opportunity for Palm Beach County youth to receive mentoring and financial support from prominent Palm Beach County philanthropists in order to create community betterment projects.
In October, 7th through 12th grade students all over Palm Beach County began to propose initiatives that directly address social issues impacting the county. Those students then submitted their solution to an issue in December and awaited to hear the announcement of finalists that took place in January. Now, the chosen finalists will present their ideas at the 2017 finals event and the winners will receive one-to-one mentoring from the philanthropist-investors and up to $15,000 to fund their initiatives.
The investors for 2016-17 include Bill Meyer of Meyer Jabara Hotels, Christine Stiller of Palm Beach United Way, Avy Stein of Willis Stein & Partners, and Julie Fisher Cummings of the University of Miami.
Gunster is proud to share Palm Beach Philanthropy Tank's vision of a community better because of the next generation of inspired change leaders.
The 2017 finals event will take place on Wednesday March 8 at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.
