On April 29, South Florida Business and Wealth will honor the Leaders in Law Finalists 2015 at their annual event. Two Gunster attorneys, Elaine Bucher in the wills, trusts and estates category and Heidi Davis Knapik in the environmental law category, have been named finalists for 2015.
The event will kick off with a networking hour at 5:30 p.m for a fee. According to the event website, the awards program is created by Lifestyle Media Group and intends to honor lawyers, law firms sand corporate counsel that “promote excellence in law, maintain the highest level of ethics, show a commitment to their community and are proven leaders.”
Elaine Bucher is a shareholder in Gunster’s private wealth services practice. Her practice areas include wills, trusts and estates, trust and estate administration and fiduciary litigation. Bucher is involved throughout the community as a member of the business professional advisory committee at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, with the Boys & Girls of Palm Beach County as a member of the corporate board of directors and as the former chair of the professional advisory committee of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Southeast Florida division.
Heidi Davis Knapik is a shareholder that has been with the firm since 1997 and is a member of the environmental and land use practice. Her practice areas include land use law, environmental law and real estate. Knapik is a recipient of the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award and has been named to Broward County’s Finest by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The list of finalists were selected based on statements, supporting material and records of significant legal cases the attorneys have worked on. Innovation in client care, previous accolades and activity in the legal industry compared to peers were all considered as well.
