Is your board prepared for activist shareholders?

On Dec. 16, Alliance Advisors, a proxy solicitation and corporate advisory firm, will host a webinar discussing the rise of activist investors and other trends in the field of corporate governance. Gunster attorney Robert B. Lamm, co-chair of the firm's securities and corporate governance practice, will be a panelist at the event.

The panel will discuss the potential pitfalls and how to plan for and deal with activist shareholders. For example, topics may include:

  • Today's activism: does it differ from that of prior periods?
  • How to assess your company's vulnerability
  • Do's and don'ts on dealing with activist investors in your company
  • Planning to avoid it

Lamm is a frequent speaker on the topic of corporate governance.

On January 20, 2015, he will be participating in a webinar to discuss the forecast for the 2015 proxy season and changes in voting guidelines.

This past October, he was a panelist at the 2014 Executive Forum hosted by the American Stock Transfer and Trust Company at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

Tom Johnson of Abernathy MacGregor, and Stephen Brown of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals will join Lamm on the Dec. 16 webinar panel, which will be moderated by Waheed Hassan of Alliance Advisors.
