WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June 2, 2015) – Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce that Earnest DeLoach, a shareholder in its Orlando office, has been named general counsel to the African-American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida.
Founded in 1945, the chamber aims to serve as the leading advocate and resource helping to foster economic success for black-owned businesses in central Florida.
As general counsel for the chamber, DeLoach will advise its board of directors on legal and/or governmental affairs matters affecting the work of the chamber − such as board governance and procedure; review of corporate bylaws and event contracts; dispute avoidance and resolution; and drafting of policy resolutions regarding the budget debate currently before the Florida Legislature. He serves as the pleasure of the board, so his term as GC is indefinite.
Earnest DeLoach is a member of Gunster's business litigation practice. He counsels business owners and government representatives concerning litigation, transactional, business development, administrative and corporate formation matters.
DeLoach was elected president of the Tiger Bay Club of Central Florida for 2015, a nonpartisan political forum with more than 300 members.
Also in 2015, DeLoach was welcomed as a new member of the Central Florida Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors, and George C. Young American Inn of Court, an organization providing opportunities for aspiring young lawyers to learn from older, distinguished lawyers and judges in a social setting. He was named vice president of Scoutreach for the Executive Committee of the Central Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
DeLoach has worked as a commercial litigator in Orlando for the past 15 years.
