Press Release
Gunster Attorney Brian Cheslack

Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, named Brian Cheslack a shareholder in its private wealth services practice. Working out of the firm’s Boca Raton office, his practice includes advising high-net-worth individuals and families on the preservation, management and transfer of wealth.  Cheslack is rejoining Gunster, the first firm he worked for following his law school graduation.

He has extensive experience in the implementation of advanced wealth preservation techniques, including transfer tax planning and the integrated issues associated with high-net-worth families. His approach to clients is to embrace compassion and creativity in guiding them through complex decisions that work best for those they care about. Cheslack is Board Certified in wills, trusts and estates by the Florida Bar.  Joining him in his return to Gunster are Cayley Erickson, an associate also focused on estate and trust planning for high-net-worth individuals and Nancy L. Seitter, a certified paralegal. His highly regarded assistant, Kathi Mueller, accompanies them, ensuring a smooth transition.

“Brian has a very distinguished career, both in his naval service and legal experience and we’re excited to welcome him back to Gunster,” said Bill Perry, Gunster’s managing shareholder. “The demand for smart and efficient wealth management counsel has never been greater and Brian and his team add great depth and experience to our practice.”

As a Delray Beach resident, Cheslack is actively involved in cultural, educational, and youth programs in the community. Currently, he is a board member of the Delray Beach Public Library. He is past president of Delray Beach Center for the Arts at Old School Square, Inc., and past chairman of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce. Cheslack previously served on the board of directors and executive committee of the Bethesda Hospital Foundation and the Delray Beach Athletic Club.

Cheslack is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He served as a nuclear engineering officer for the United States Navy onboard fast attack submarines. Following eight years on active duty, he continued to serve as a navy reserve officer.  His most recent assignments involved the Special Operations Command and representing the United States Navy for NATO exercise planning.   He retired with the rank of Captain.  Following his service, Cheslack received an engineering degree from the University of Utah and his law degree from the University of Miami.
